Pokey resigned as the head women's basketball coach at Louisiana State on Wednesday after the university became aware of an alleged inappropriate sexual relationship between Chatman and a former player on Chatman's team, sources told ESPN.com. The university, the sources said, learned of the relationship from an employee within the basketball program. It was unclear when the alleged improper conduct took place, but when asked if it had occurred while the player was a member of a team coached by Chatman, a university source said, "that's my understanding." Analysis of the Raptors Defense By Raul Jimenez
When Jorge Garbajosa went to the NBA, everybody in Spain everybody thought he couldn’t play the “3” spot. He was the best Spanish, and probably European “4,” but it was thought that he wasn’t able to play the “3” on either defense or offense in the NBA.
It’s great to see how Raptors head coach Sam Mitchell has made him able to play against guys like Vince Carter and Paul Pierce because this gives Toronto an important advantage over other teams.
Let’s take a look at Garbajosa’s 1 on 1 defense:
There are more interesting things on Raptors’ defense. One example is the way they switch in screens. They are brave enough and, of course, they are organized enough to do it. A lot of teams have problems when they face this kind of defense. The first reason this is successful is because few teams use this at the beginning of their offense. I’ve found that more teams that use this defense quite often when the shotclock is close to 7-8 seconds. The second interesting thing about the Raptors defense is they are ready to help in case they need to:
To finish with their defense, there is something that give an idea about the “European” style of this team - their zone defense. Although there are many teams which use zones, Toronto is probably the team that get more positive things from their zone. Perhaps the fact of having more European players (or players who have been playing overseas) help them to understand better this kind of defense. It’s very interesting that their zone is flexible, and they can change from one kind to another in the same play. As we watch in the images, the 1-2-2 zone, becomes a 2-3 zone as the offense goes on:

As ondas de choque da revelação de Johm Amaechi, primeiro jogador da NBA a admitir a sua homossexualidade, a semana passada, vão fazendo sentir-se, e ontem foi a vez de Tim Hardaway, também ele hoje retirado da melhor liga do Mundo, revelar a sua homofobia.
"Detesto os gays. E não gosto de estar rodeado deles. Sou homófobo. Isso não devia existir no Mundo ou nos Estados Unidos", afirmou à rádio floridense WAXY-AM Hardaway, base já retirado que actuou em Golden State, Miami, Dallas, Denver e Indiana, entre 1990 e 2003, para se pronunciar concretamente sobre Amaechi, antigo poste de Cleveland Cavaliers, Orlando Magic e Utah Jazz, na mesma altura:
"Para mais, se ele estivesse na minha equipa, tinha-me mantido à distância, porque penso que não é normal. E nem acho que ele devesse partilhar o nosso balneário", disse Tim Hardaway, campeão olímpico pelos EUA em 2000.
Stern desautoriza Hardaway...
Também as palavras de Hardaway não ficaram sem resposta, e David Stern, responsável máximo da NBA, disse hoje que o antigo distribuidor de jogo não falará mais em nome da liga:
"Seria totalmente inadequado deixá-lo representar-nos, tendo em conta as nossas diferenças de pontos de vista, disse Stern ao diário da Florida "South Florida Sun-Sentinel" de hoje, a propósito de Hardaway ter programadas intervenções em iniciativas de beneficência da liga.

Por seu lado, John Amaechi, que trabalha com crianças na Inglaterra natal, ficou "feliz" com a reacção do ex-adversário:
"Até que enfim que alguém é honesto. É ridículo, absurdo, mesquinho, sectário e mostra uma falta de empatia desmesurada e insondável. Mas é sincero. E isso ilustra o problema melhor do que qualquer linguagem frouxa utilizada por outros até aqui", considerou Amaechi.
